Why Hardwired

Benefits of Professional Installation

Hardwired, interconnected smoke and CO detectors provide superior protection compared to battery-only units.

Interconnected Alarms

When one detector sounds, they all sound. Whether the danger is in the basement or attic, you'll hear it immediately from anywhere in the house.

Reliable Power

Hardwired detectors never run out of battery power at 3 AM. Battery backup ensures protection even during power outages.

Code Compliance

Pennsylvania and New Jersey require hardwired, interconnected detectors in new construction and major renovations. We ensure your home meets all requirements.

Detector Types

What We Install

We install the right combination of detectors for complete protection throughout your home.

Smoke Detectors

Photoelectric, ionization, or dual-sensor models. Required in bedrooms, hallways, and every level of the home.

CO Detectors

Carbon monoxide detectors required near sleeping areas in homes with gas appliances, attached garages, or fireplaces.

Combination Units

Smoke and CO detection in one unit. Simplifies installation and reduces ceiling clutter while providing full protection.

Heat Detectors

For kitchens, garages, and areas where smoke detectors cause false alarms. Triggers on temperature, not smoke.

Common Questions

Smoke & CO Detector FAQs

How many smoke detectors do I need?

Code requires detectors inside each bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of the home including basements and attics. A typical 3-bedroom, 2-story home needs 6-8 smoke detectors.

Where should CO detectors be installed?

CO detectors are required within 10 feet of bedroom doors. You also need one on each level of the home. Homes with gas appliances, attached garages, or fireplaces require CO detection.

How often should detectors be replaced?

Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years. CO detectors typically last 5-7 years. Check the manufacture date on your units. We can assess your current system during a free estimate.

Can you add hardwired detectors to an older home?

Yes, we install hardwired systems in homes of any age. We run wiring through attics and walls with minimal visible impact. It's easier than most homeowners expect.

Why do my smoke detectors keep going off?

False alarms are often caused by detectors near kitchens or bathrooms, dust accumulation, or old units. We can relocate detectors, add heat detectors in problem areas, or replace aging units.
